I have kids, a B&B to run and a busy social life. Combined with a total inability to follow 'diets'and no desire to live on mung beans and kale juice to look good.
Five years ago, I stopped eating sugar and carbs strictly for four weeks. I didn't have a sweet tooth but I was gobsmacked
at how much hidden sugars
are in our day to day diets. And some of the worst culprits were supposedly healthy or low fat foods.
I lost weight (stubborn flab that had been lingering since having kids), felt full of energy
and my skin glowed. The first week was tough, butI felt like I was in controlof my mind and body - and it felt good. I haven't ever craved any sugar loaded food since even on holidays, at parties or at Christmas, when it seems to literally jump out at you.
I had always eaten well, but I wanted to know more. So I decided to re-train in Nutritional Therapy, provide cooking and healthy eating classes and I also do demonstrations and in-store promotional events for kitchen and homewares companies.
It really is a change in mindset. Honestly if I can do it, anyone can!
